1. Before the First Class

My best creative work before UNSW
Contemporary House 3D model

The entrance exams for the Architecture programs in Scandinavia are though. One of the assignments was to document a piece of creative work that you had done, and that you were proud of. I ended up making a 3D-model from scratch, as I didn't really have anything to show for. The house I modeled was based off a doodle I did during maths class. This doodle was again was based on a house in my neighborhood back home. In the end I wasn't accepted into that particular school, but I did learn a lot in the process.

A great piece of architecture
18.36.54 House

This house was designed by American architect Daniel Liebskind for an art couple in Connecticut. The clients wanted an "extreme" house in the country. The unconventional exterior is covered in bronze, and the interior is a mix of wood and stone. The askew shapes make for some interesting and unique spaces on the inside. I like this house because it challenges the traditional way of making houses. It manages to be both a piece of art and a fully functional house.

An original picture of something beautiful
Sunny winter day

Sunny winter days are some of the prettiest. I took this picture while on a skiing trip in the Norwegian wilderness a couple of years ago. When the sun shines at this time of year, there is a special kind of light that makes everything seem colder and clearer. It's hard to explain, but it really is a beautiful experience.
